Group earnings before taxes of EUR 6.5 million in the first half of 2024

Hamburg, 20 August 2024 – According to preliminary figures, Bijou Brigitte achieved revenue of EUR 151.5 million in the first six months of the 2024 financial year (previous year: EUR 148.8 million). Group earnings before income taxes in the first half of 2024 amounted to EUR 6.5 million (previous year: EUR 10.3 million*). Group earnings after income taxes were at EUR 3.6 million (previous year: EUR 7.0 million*). As of 30 June 2024, the store network comprised 895 concessions (31 December 2023: 897).

This earnings development of the Bijou Brigitte Group in the first half of 2024 is mainly due to increases in personnel costs as well higher expenditure for advertising and store renovations. Furthermore, higher expenses due to inflation in almost all items had a significant impact on Group earnings in the first half of 2024. Despite these substantial cost increases, the significant reduction in the number of stores enabled the company to exceed the revenue of the year preceding the coronavirus and nearly reach the pre-tax earnings level of 2019 (EUR 6.6 million).

The full half-year financial report of Bijou Brigitte modische Accessoires AG will be published in September 2024.
